Standout offerings: Lap collection by Blu Dot

Minneapolis-based furniture designer and maker Blu Dot introduced the Lap collection, which includes six cabinets. The collection got its name from the overlapping wood drawer and door fronts. Made from white-washed maple, the collection comes with soft close doors and drawers, while the tapered legs are available in three leg finish options: maple, orange and white.

The collection includes “Long and Low” cabinet, which has a center flip-down door flanked by two doors with adjustable interior shelves. The “Lap 2 Door/2 Drawer” credenza has two center drawers flanked by two doors with adjustable interior shelves. Also available is the “Lap” nightstand.

Founded by John Christakos, Charles Lazor and Maurice Blanks, Blu Dot was established in 1997. The company’s aesthetic stresses clean lines and quality craftsmanship, with the catalog including seating, beds, desks, storage, dining and occasional tables, lighting, rugs and accessories.
