Starwood opens sixth St. Regis hotel in China

Starwood Hotels & Resorts opened a St. Regis hotel in Chengdu. The 279-room property, which stands at 29 stories tall, marks the brand’s sixth hotel in China, and 33rd worldwide.

Starwood plans to double the St. Regis portfolio in Greater China in the next five years.

The property has various room types. Deluxe Rooms have city or Tianfu Square views, with locally inspired décor and amenities such as St. Regis Butler Service. Technology is available, including Internet access, a 46-inch LCD television and Bose surround sound system. These rooms measure 700 square feet.

Also available is the two-bedroom, two-bathroom Presidential Suite on the 29th floor, with a rooftop terrace offering a 39-foot lap pool and city and Tianfu Square views. Indoors, the living room joins a dining room for eight, with kitchenette. It has bedrooms and a master bathroom, a jetted deep soaking bathtub, sauna and rainforest shower. It measures 3,498 square feet.

With floor-to-ceiling glass windows, The St. Regis Chengdu has 11,840 square feet of meeting spaces, accommodating both social and corporate gatherings. The Iridium Spa, exclusive to St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, has nine treatment rooms, sauna and steam rooms and a fitness center.

St. Regis is the only luxury hotel in Chengdu to offer both indoor and outdoor swimming pools for in-house guests and St. Regis Athletic Club members. The property is located at the intersection of Chengdu’s business and luxury retail districts, and steps away from Tianfu Square and Chun Xi Roa.
