Surfcomber Miami South Beach hotel implements Kimpton's Earthcare program

Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants officially opened their Surfcomber Miami South Beach hotel after a renovation of the hotel’s two towers and public spaces. The new hotel has sold out the first week and will open during the prestigious Art Basel Miami Beach art show. It is located in the Art Deco District and includes 186 guest rooms. In addition to the outdoor deck and heated pool, there is also a mix of dining options, including Lantao Kitchen + Bar and Lantao Social Club.

The Surfcomber is also pet-friendly, providing services and amenities for pets upon registration, at no extra cost. Kimpton’s Guppy Love program also allows for guests who don’t have pets to request a live goldfish to stay overnight in their room. The other amenities offered at the Surfcomber include: a menu geared toward personalized guest preferences, mini bars with healthy options, complimentary Wi-Fi for Kimpton InTouch members, a morning coffee and tea service, a daily hosted evening wine hour, and exercise-oriented accessories, such as a yoga bag. The hotel will also offer 24-hour in room dining, an on-site business center and valet service.

The Surfcomber will join the other two Florida Kimpton hotels, EPIC in Downtown Miami, and Vero Beach Hotel & Spa. It also operates under Kimpton’s Earthcare program, which has been shown to reduce waste, energy and water consumption nationwide. The special grand opening rate will be available for booking until January 31, 2012, with introductory rates starting at $149 and $199, depending on when guests stay at the hotel.
