Taipei Marriott Hotel to open in July

Marriott International announced the expansion of its global portfolio with the July opening of the Taipei Marriott Hotel, the first Marriott Hotel in Taiwan.

The Taipei Marriott Hotel will offer a range of travel and leisure experiences, including a five-star 320-room luxury hotel, convention center, high-end shopping mall and luxury apartments. The property will also have a green landscape that envelopes much of the hotel’s property.

The Taipei Marriott Hotel will offer 320 guestrooms and suites, as well as four restaurants and a lounge with a design that reflects the local culture and tradition while also showcasing technology.  With a location on the north bank of the Keelung River, the Taipei Marriott Hotel will offer panoramic views of Taipei City from each guestroom.

HOTEL OPTIMIZATION PART 2 | Now Available On-Demand

Survival in these times is highly dependent on a hotel's ability to quickly adapt and pivot their business to meet the current needs of travelers and the surrounding community. Join us for Optimization Part 2 – a FREE virtual event – as we bring together top players in the industry to discuss alternative uses when occupancy is down, ways to boost F&B revenue, how to help your staff adjust to new challenges and more, in a series of panels focused on how you can regain profitability during this crisis.

One of the most striking elements of the Taipei Marriott Hotel will be the pervasive use of greenery, part of Marriott’s “Green Hotel Development” initiative. Indigenous shrubbery and flowering plants will be found throughout the hotel grounds and, like a botanical garden, will be interspersed with pieces of art and sitting areas. In the center of the landscape will be “Butterflies,” an aluminum sculpture by Spainaird Manolo Valdes, inspired by the nearby butterfly biosphere reserve on Mt. Jiannan. The sculpture is the artist’s tribute to Taiwan, known as “The Butterfly Kingdom,” and serves as a tribute to nature and the arts.

The Taipei Marriott Hotel will offer 32,292 square feet of pillarless, flexible space that can be transformed into up to 12 meeting spaces, as well as a 13,563-square-foot Grand Ballroom. The Garden Villa located on the top floor of the conference center will offer direct access to a rooftop garden and a chapel.

Taipei Marriott Hotel will offer five restaurants and lounges, including: Lobby Lounge, Garden Kitchen, Mac’s Teppan, Marriott’s signature Chinese restaurant The Dining Place, and Oxy Bar & Grill.

Other amenities will include: Taipei Marriott Hotel’s SPA, located on the 19th floor; and 24-hour fitness center, including a rooftop swimming pool.

The Taipei Marriott Hotel will be located in the Dazhi District, the capital’s new commercial hub, just 10 minutes from Songshan International Airport and five minutes from the Neihu Technology Park. In addition, the MRT Jiannan Rd. station, the Mt. Jiannan Trail and the Miramar Shopping Center are short walks from the hotel. Finally, the Taipei Marriott also enjoys the distinction of being the closest five-star hotel to the National Palace Museum.
