TAL Studio’s Todd Avery-Lenahan leads redesign of Four Seasons Resort Lanai at Manele Bay

The Four Seasons Resort Lanai at Manele Bay revealed another phase in its multi-million dollar transformation with the debut of newly redesigned guestrooms and suites, which include bespoke furnishings and commissioned works. The overall re-envisioning of the resort was led by Todd Avery-Lenahan of TAL Studio.

Located along hillsides by the shores of Hulopoe Bay, guests can reach accommodations through gardens and waterways, many of which are framed by Lanai's cliffs and geologic formations.

Also newly refreshed is the Lower Lobby, which now has décor that reflects the tones and textures of the island and adds a Hawaiian aesthetic. The palette includes colors from the earth, sand and brush. Also included are artworks from across Polynesia, Micronesia and Hawaii, with pieces including a mid-20th century billum feather bag and vintage Hawaiian ivory pikake blossoms lei, as well as 19th century Micronesian Gilbert Island shark tooth swords and various prints.

Virtual Event

Survival in these times is highly dependent on a hotel's ability to quickly adapt and pivot their business to meet the current needs of travelers and the surrounding community. Join us for Optimization Part 2 – a FREE virtual event – as we bring together top players in the industry to discuss alternative uses when occupancy is down, ways to boost F&B revenue, how to help your staff adjust to new challenges and more, in a series of panels focused on how you can regain profitability during this crisis.

Each room has a finished teak and stone entryway that frames the arrival experience. Inspired by Hawaii and by Polynesian influences, the interiors feature teak and zebra wood edging artisan-produced Nepalese Lokta paper, and floors of mahogany laid with wool handwoven area rugs. The rooms and suites are also organic in ambiance, with furnishings of rosewood, leather, iron and linen.

The rooms also have a wine and champagne bar with closets and furnishings for apparel storage, and the new Four Seasons Bed. There are also fully integrated lighting, temperature, service and privacy controls; as well as a 75-inch, platinum-bezel LED television panel.

Bathrooms are enveloped in slate floors, teak paneled walls and artisan tiles, with double-wide rain showers or deep soaking bathtubs. Vanity consoles with leathered and carved stone tops are fitted with custom fixtures, dimmable lighting and in-mirror televisions.

An addition to the resort is a new retail experience located off the reception lobby, curated by Seaside Luxe. Designers include luxury brands, such as Missoni, Jimmy Choo, Eres and Kimberly McDonald.  Other lines included are from James Perse, Diane Von Furstenberg, Joie, Vince, Vilebrequin and Oliver Peoples.

Four Seasons Resorts Lanai, located on an island a few miles west of Maui, includes Manele Bay and The Lodge at Koele.
