Thierry Gaugain designs MAMA Shelter’s first US hotel

MAMA Shelter announced its expansion into the US with the first property scheduled to open in Los Angeles on May 15.

Created seven years ago by the Trigano Family, co-founders of Club Med, MAMA Shelter began as a boutique Paris hotel before expanding to Marseilles, Lyon, Istanbul and Bordeaux.

Located in Hollywood’s Selma and Wilcox neighborhood, near such sites as the Chinese Theatre, the six-floor MAMA Shelter will feature a design by Thierry Gaugain.

Hotel facilities will include a gym and restaurant on the rooftop, which will offer a near-360-degree view from the Hollywood sign, to Downtown, to South Bay, to the Westside. Chef Benjamin Bailly from Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, Petrossian and Fraiche designed the menus.
