Valley Forge Fabrics now eligible for LEED credits

Valley Forge Fabrics is the first sheeting & bedding manufacturer to offer a product that contributes to various USGBC LEED credits including FSC Certified Fibers category.
Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. Valley Forge Fabrics, Inc., the leader in sustainable textiles for hospitality, announced today that USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council) confirmed recognition of bedding within the LEED rating system, specifically within LEED for Existing Buildings (LEED EB).  The Valley Forge LIVING FRESH with Tencel+Plus™  Lyocell products may help projects earn LEED points in three areas as this collection is made from a rapidly renewable resource (Eucalyptus), will be picked up at the end of their life through Valley Forge’s established reclamation program and the Eucalyptus is harvested from FSC managed forests.
All Eucalyptus fiber for LIVING FRESH with Tencel+Plus™  Lyocell products are harvested from Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) managed forests.   Today, Valley Forge is the only company with FSC Certified Fiber bedding products.  In the past, the USGBC only awarded points for FSC Certified paper products or FSC Certified Wood.  The FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests and follows a strict set of rules and guidelines.  Earlier this year, Valley Forge introduced LIVING FRESH bedding made with Tencel+Plus™  Lyocell fiber from Eucalyptus.  The company’s choice to blend cotton – the most desirable fiber for luxury bedding applications - with Tencel+Plus™  Lyocell  Eucalyptus is an innovation with astounding results. Through an exclusive arrangement with Lenzing Fibers, the world leader in Cellulose Fiber technology, Valley Forge created LIVING FRESH made with Tencel+Plus™  Lyocell. Lenzing’s fiber from Eucalyptus, unlike bamboo, is produced in a sustainable manner.  The LIVING FRESH bedding collection is already an award-winning collection for Valley Forge that boasts Tencel+Plus™ Lyocell Eucalyptus fiber exclusively developed for Valley Forge and the Hospitality industry. Just last month, LIVING FRESH Bedding was awarded honorable mention in the 1st Annual Art of Design awards by Veranda Magazine in the Eco-friendly category.
