The Las Vegas Sun and Las Vegas Review-Journal report that the proposed Sahara hotel-casino remodel has been approved by the Clark County Commission. The hotel, which had to close six months ago, a casualty of the recession, is owned by SBE Entertainment and private equity firm Stockbridge Real Estate. The initial plan calls the existing room towers to be renovated, the roller coaster dismantled and construction of a 2,830-square-foot beer garden.
