Versatile design: Sand light by alien and monkey

Spanish designer alien and monkey launched a cube-shaped lamp design made from sand, made using traditional ceramic manufacture techniques. The new sand-based material is baked in a kiln and can be used for a long period of time before eventually crumbling back into sand at the end of its lifecycle. alien and monkey’s lamps are biodegradable. The Sand light is a versatile design that can be hung as a pendant lamp, stacked in multiples or rested on a surface and used as a table lamp.

Based in Barcelona, Spain, alien and monkey is a design workshop created by Daishu Ma, a writer and illustrator, and Marc Nicolau, an industrial designer.
