Viceroy New York to boast Roman and Williams-designed exterior

Viceroy Hotels and Resorts announced that the next generation of New York luxury hospitality is to arrive with the newly-built Viceroy New York. The property, once completed, will have a “feel of a downtown hotel with the sophistication of its uptown counterparts”, thanks to the design team of Roman and Williams, thereby eyeing at “uniting the hottest names in hotel development, architecture, design and cuisine."

The property will have bespoke interiors including a hybrid of metal details with woodwork and a double-height lobby. Viceroy will have 241 luxury guestrooms, many of them with views of Central Park.

Viceroy will debut on West 57th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues. The Roman and Williams-designed exterior of the hotel comprises a grid of black brick and steel. The hotel is currently in development by Ark Partners and will debut in September 2013.

According to Ark chairman Brad Reiss, the vision for this project was to “deliver a luxury hospitality product in an iconic building, embodying the Golden Era of New York in an incomparable and irreplaceable location.”

Viceroy amenities include: a rooftop food and beverage venue, and a signature restaurant located off the lobby and fronting 57th Street. There will also be destination spas specializing in health, fitness and beauty.

Current sister properties for the property include hotels and resorts in Abu Dhabi, Anguilla, Beverly Hills, Maldives, Miami, New York, Palm Springs, Riviera Maya, San Francisco, Santa Monica, Snowmass, St. Lucia and Zihuatanejo with forthcoming openings in Istanbul and Bodrum, Turkey.
