The W Hotels Worldwide will spend between $3.5 million and $4 million to renovate its W Dallas – Victory property.
The renovations are part of a corporate push to update more than 11 properties across the nation. The new look is expected to be completed in late September.
"Our customers require that we keep everything updated and fresh and that's an expectation," said Darryl Jett, general manager of the W Dallas. "It's really about re-energizing the look of guest rooms and corridors."
Each hotel will receive unique design updates that correspond with their market. The Dallas hotel will follow its “bigger, bolder, brasher” concept.
The updates include snakeskin covers for new 42-inch flat screen TVs, which will serve as the focal point of the room; rhinestone hardware; armadillo skin embellishment; brighter window treatments; lasso sculptures and larger dark chocolate headboards on the beds.
Some of the carpeting and the ends of the corridors will include the mud flap girl, the silhouette of a woman sometimes featured on mud flaps of trucks.
Houston-based design firm MaRS, Mayfield and Ragni Studio will do the renovations across the hotel's 252 guest rooms, including 26 suites and the 1,323 square-foot Extreme Wow Suite. The look is meant to mix modern masculine cowboy style with the feminine southern belle.
The hotel opened in Victory Park in June 2006 near downtown Dallas.
