WATG/Wimberly Interiors renovates Lake Arrowhead Resort & Spa

Carey Watermark Investors Incorporated (CWI) announced that Lake Arrowhead Resort & Spa, which was acquired by CWI in July 2012, joined the Autograph Collection, part of the Marriott International global portfolio. The 173-room resort, located in Lake Arrowhead, Calif., completed a $4.6-million renovation of its guest ooms, suites, public areas, function spaces, recreation facilities and spa.

The WATG/Wimberly Interiors design team created a new visual identity, inspired by and respectful of the original style and feel of the property.

Lake Arrowhead Resort & Spa is an AAA-designated Four Diamond hotel located in the San Bernardino National Forest on the shores of the privately-owned Lake Arrowhead, 90 miles east of Los Angeles, Calif. The 177,000-square-foot hotel sits on 9.13 acres of lakefront land and has 162 guestrooms and 11 suites. Amenities include 23,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, an 8,000-square-foot spa, an all-day dining restaurant, a lounge, business center, fitness center, outdoor pool, a private beach and a dock. The property is managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts.

The Lakeview rooms have views of Lake Arrowhead, while the Alpine rooms face away from the lake toward the mountainside. Most guestrooms have outdoor balconies. All queen-furnished rooms are fitted with two queen beds and a shower/tub combination, while all king-furnished rooms are designed with a glass enclosed walk-in shower. All 11 suites have bathrooms with a large walk-in shower and a separate deep-soaking tub.

For events, available is a total of 23,000 square feet of transformed meeting and indoor/outdoor function space. The meeting space includes a ballroom that accommodates up to 400 guests reception style and a self-contained boardroom with its own Business Center services available, restroom, wet bar, lounge, high-tech conference table and comfortable seating for up to 16 people. The outdoor meeting areas include a private beach, the only one of its kind in the area, a manicured lawn and a deck overlooking the lake.

Other amenities include Spa of the Pines.

The Autograph Collection is an ensemble of independent hotels, with each destination selected for its originality and uncommon details.
