Westin Chennai Velachery announced in India

Westin Hotels and Resorts, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc., opened The Westin Chennai Velachery. Located in the business district of Chennai in the Southern part of India, The Westin Chennai Velachery is the sixth Westin hotel in India and the first out of seven new Westin hotels expected to open in 2013 across Asia Pacific.

Located within 20-minute drive from Chennai Domestic and International Airport, the hotel provides access to Guindy business district, OMR-IT corridor, city center and Chennai Trade Centre.

Upon entering the hotel’s lobby, guests are greeted with 35-feet cascading water body located in the central courtyard of the hotel. The hotel offers 215 guestrooms and suites with pool or city skyline views. Each guestroom is outfitted with the Westin Heavenly Bed. Also available is the Heavenly Bath enhanced with the brand’s Heavenly Shower, Heavenly Robe and White Tea Aloe bath amenities, in-room and high-speed Internet access.

The Westin Chennai Velachery also offers the 24-hour WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio, an outdoor swimming pool and the Heavenly Spa by Westin.

Visible from the main lobby, Seasonal Tastes restaurant offers international cuisine with live cooking stations.

The property has over 12,600 square feet of meeting and function space, including two pillar-less ballrooms and 12 break-out rooms and a business center. The hotel, which can host intimate business affairs to large-scale corporate meetings, is equipped with Internet access, audio visual technology and an ergonomically-designed performance chair.
