Winner: Humanscale Products earn Green GOOD DESIGN Awards

Humanscale’s personal zone air purifier and Horizon LED Task Light have each received a 2011 Green GOOD DESIGN Award.

Recently awarded the Energy Star certification, the Humanscale personal zone air purifier is said to be 2.5 times more efficient than Energy Star requirements, producing zero ozone and is also the only air purifier to offer recyclable filters. It filters out more than 99% of airborne contaminants of all sizes.

The Horizon task light, featuring Thin Film LED Technology, consumes only nine watts of power and is rated for up to 50,000 hours of use, equal to 25 years in most single-shift work environments. Horizon is made from 28% recycled and 99% recyclable material.

The Green GOOD DESIGN Awards, organized by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, aims to “to find the most innovative design approach for new products, buildings, and environments that center on the idea of repairing our world with sustainable and ecological alternatives.”
