Woods Bagot, Oxigen collaborate for Aloft Adelaide

Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc. announced plans to debut in South Australia with the signing of Aloft Adelaide in the state capital. Owned by local developer Sturt Land, a joint venture between local construction group Tagara and Melbourne-based developer Colvid, the signing of Aloft Adelaide marks the Aloft brand's third property to enter the Australian market. Slated to open in early 2018, the new-build hotel will form the centerpiece of New Mayfield, a mixed-use development set in inner-city Adelaide.

Located 20 minutes away from Adelaide Airport at 43-69 Sturt Street, on the corner of Norman Street, Aloft Adelaide will have 200 loft-like guestrooms. The hotel will also have an indoor glass bottom rooftop pool, 24-hour fitness center with a rooftop running track and 5,382 square feet of flexible meeting space. The meeting space will be complimented by a rooftop bar and lounge overlooking the city, underneath the cantilevered glass bottom pool.

The Aloft brand's W XYZSM bar will provide a social spot for guests. Alternative dining options include Re:fuel, and a restaurant space.

The technology will be available at select Aloft, Element and W Hotels worldwide by end-2015.

The signing of Aloft Adelaide follows the announcement of the Aloft Sydney Pitt Street, slated to open in October 2016, and last year's announcement of the Aloft Perth Rivervale, set to open early 2017.
