The Marti Group opened its first city address with Marti Istanbul Hotel, a new five-star property set in Istanbul, Turkey.
Fashioned by designer Zeynep Fadillioglu, the 11-story, 270-room hotel is arrayed with various attributes, artwork and touches reflecting the heritage of the surrounding city. While the hotel's phase one soft opening was held as early as July 2012, the property has now been completely opened, with the unveiling of all of its public spaces.
Marti Istanbul Hotel is the latest addition to the Marti Group, a family-owned public hotel management company in Turkey. Founded in 1967, Marti Group operates five hotel and resort properties along the Turquoise Coast.
Turkish designer Fadillioglu employed her passion for storytelling throughout Marti Istanbul Hotel in modern Ottoman style. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed to a courtyard between the entrance and the street.
The hotel's Atrium lobby has natural light and chandeliers, a staircase and wall panel mirrors. Fadilloglu worked closely with a team of Turkish artists to create hand-painted wall designs. Guestrooms are dressed with purple and blue palettes. All accommodations have contemporary in-room technologies, including a 42-inch flat screen television, an iPod docking station and Internet access. The majority of guestrooms also have marble and glass enclosed bathrooms with separate rainforest showers.
The premium guestroom is the Regal Suite on the 10th floor of the hotel. The 2,700-square-foot suite offers Bosphorus views, living room with dining area and piano, kitchen, study, walk-in closet and a hammam-style bathroom with Jacuzzi, vanity corner and double wash basin. A private butler service may be reserved.
In Spring 2013, the hotel also will unveil a panoramic terrace on the 12th floor, offering perspectives of the city.
Marti Istanbul Hotel offers two restaurants and multiple bar areas serving culinary concepts by executive chef Frédéric Médigue. These include: BRASS, which serves an assortment of French, Asian and Turkish dishes; and the Quad Restaurant & Bar, which boasts an Ottoman tent decorated with Turkish motifs. Additional hotel dining options include a Piano Bar on the Mezzanine Level; a Lobby Lounge just inside the hotel entrance; and Lounge 11 on the top floor for exclusive use of suite guests. There is also a Gourmet Stop.
On the 11th floor of the hotel, the 9,100-square-foot spa that offers a range of therapies. The spa has three hammams, two saunas, two steam rooms and five treatment rooms, as well as a relaxation area and "vitamin bar." On the terrace, guests can access a glass-enclosed gym.
With 7,400 square feet of meeting and event space, the hotel's ground floor ballroom and accompanying foyer can accommodate more than 200 guests, while four Mezzanine Level boardrooms are ideal for private meetings and events. All facilities are equipped with communication and presentation technologies, and clients may avail of the hotel's full-time event and catering staffs.
