1Is the Ace Hotel brand coming to The Big Easy? This from Curbed: It's been one year since the Domain Cos. bought 600 Carondelet St. for $5.5 million and promulgated news of a hotel/retail transformation at the old Max Barnett Furniture Store building.

Plans are still on track for the South Market District spot and rumors are swirling that an Ace Hotel could be moving in. The nine-story building is getting a complete makeover and the parking lot next door will be the future home to a four-floor modernish structure with retail and restaurants.

We'll be waiting for official word.
