AM Resorts to bring Dreams brand to Curacao

AMResorts, an Apple Leisure Group brand, has signed a new resort-management deal to bring the Dreams Resorts & Spas brand to Curaçao.

The property, owned by Lionstone Development and formerly known as Hilton Curaçao, will undergo a $15-million-renovation before reopening in December as the Dreams Curaçao Resort, Spa & Casino.

“We’re very pleased with the Caribbean’s current momentum and expect this trend to continue for the foreseeable future,” said Javier Coll, EVP/chief strategy officer of ALG. “Considering ALG moves two out of every 10 U.S. travelers headed to the Caribbean, and the fact that the Curaçao Tourism Board has succeeded in attracting more American visitors than ever before, now is the time for owners to invest in the island’s all-inclusive market.”

Located in Piscadera Bay, the Dreams Curaçao Resort will have 197 rooms and suites, each with a private balcony. The property also will have two private beaches, two restaurants, a spa, fitness facilities and a corner shop and café.

This latest deal brings AMResorts’ resort portfolio to 64 properties and 21,000 rooms in Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America and Spain, with an additional 10,000 rooms currently under development.
