Canopy by Hilton Charlotte SouthPark eyes 2020 opening

Canopy by Hilton Charlotte SouthPark, designed by Wilson Associates, is slated to open in spring 2020 in the North Carolina city's SouthPark neighborhood.

Located six miles from the core of uptown Charlotte, Canopy by Hilton Charlotte SouthPark will be the first Canopy hotel in North Carolina.

For the 150-room hotel, Wilson Associates’ New York studio drew design inspiration from a Southern home with English origins.

The lobby will have layered textures and a white-washed color palette for a fresh, clean and casual atmosphere, similar to traditional Southern residences.

The neighboring Canopy Central Cafe & Bar will have a comfortable arrangement of modern and traditional furniture set around an open fireplace.

The highlight of the guestrooms will be a reinterpretation of the traditional half tester bed, which will showcase a sculptural, wooden modern version of draped fabric canopies.

Meanwhile, the grand ballroom will draw inspiration from Southern residential settings, including North Carolina tartan-inspired patterns and colors in the carpeting.
