Thailand's Centara to open two China hotels

Thailand’s Centara Hotels & Resorts is expanding its presence into China.

The company is set to open two new-build properties in China: the Centara Grand Beach Resort Jin Tai Hainan, in Hainan Province, and the Centara Villas Zhaoqing, in Guangdong Province.

The Centara Grand Beach Resort Jin Tai Hainan will have 350 guest rooms, and is expected to open in quarter four of 2019. It is owned by Jin Tai Heng Ye Real Estate, a subsidiary company of Shaanxi Energy Group, and one of the top 100 state-owned real estate developers in China.

Centara Villas Zhaoqing, meanwhile, is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2018. It will have 46 private villas. The resort is owned by Yuhao Properties, which also owns the Centara Resort Zhaoqing property, a 237-room resort that was signed to Centara in January 2015. Both Centara Resort Zhaoqing and Centara Villas Zhaoqing are located in Guangdong’s Zhaoqing City, a regional tourist hub and one of the key cities in the Pearl River Delta region.
