Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island is scheduled to open in May in an urban community in UAE’s capital city. The hotel will have views of the city skyline and Arabian Gulf.
Involved in the property development are: PLP Architecture (architects), Richmond International and HBA (interiors) and Tihany Design and AvroKO (design of restaurants).
The 34-story glass tower will have an exterior with a pattern of long vertical baguettes inspired by the textiles of the souk that will also offer energy savings by shielding direct sunlight.
Accommodations will have water views, and public spaces will take advantage of the sun’s natural light, whether indoors or out. Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi will have 200 rooms including 38 suites, all with views of the water, the surrounding Al Maryah Island community and the Abu Dhabi city skyline. All rooms have the Four Seasons Bed, bedside controls for lighting and window coverings, a charging/electrical dock and a reading light on each side. There will be a personal refreshment area with an espresso maker and tea maker and a refrigerator.
The 13th-floor Royal Suite will measure 267 square meters (2,874 square feet), with a two-story sitting room decorated with crystal chandeliers, hand-painted silks, marbles and hardwood flooring.
The Four Seasons property will have six dining and drinking concepts, including a poolside lounge.
There will similarly be a spa and fitness center. The spa on the third floor will have eight treatment rooms including a couple’s suite, all with private showers. Meanwhile, two fitness centers, one each for men and women, will have floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the water.
Separate men’s and women’s therapeutic relaxation areas will each include a hydro pool, sauna, hammam, ice fountain, showers, hair and beauty salon for women, and a men’s barbershop. There will also be an outdoor swimming pool.
For events, the property will have 1,918 square meters (20,645 square feet) of space, ideal for groups with up to 530 guests. There will be two ballrooms including a grand ballroom accessed by its own entrance and offering a terrace overlooking the water and city. There will similarly be five smaller spaces.
Sam Ioannidis will serve as the GM of the property.
