Hilton opens 8 DoubleTrees in three months

As it celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, Hilton's DoubleTree brand has opened (or renovated) eight hotels globally between April and June.
 
The brand opened three properties across Europe and Asia in June. DoubleTree made its Kazakhstan debut with the opening of the DoubleTree by Hilton Almaty at the foot of the Trans-lli Alatau Mountains. The brand arrived in Turkey’s western city of Afyonkarahisar with the DoubleTree by Hilton Afyonkarahisar, catering to thermal springs visitors. The DoubleTree by Hilton Istanbul Esentepe opened close to one of Istanbul’s busiest business districts.

DoubleTree continues to expand across the Asia Pacific, which accounts for nearly half of its pipeline.

In North America, the DoubleTree by Hilton Toluca opened in May as one of the largest event spaces in the business district of Toluca, the capital city of the state of Mexico, and in Alberta, Canada, the DoubleTree by Hilton Edmonton Downtown opened in June.

In the United States, the DoubleTree by Hilton Appleton in northern Wisconsin opened in April, the DoubleTree by Hilton Huntington opened in May as the brand's debut in West Virginia and the DoubleTree by Hilton Newark Penn Station opened in June at a major East Coast transit hub. The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Chicago-Magnificent Mile opened a range of studio and one-bedroom suites on its top floors in June as part of a $35 million renovation. 

The brand now has more than 565 hotels across 47 countries.

The brand also is the second fastest to grow in value in 2019, according to the Brand Finance Hotels 50 Ranking. Up 79 percent to $2.1 billion, the brand rose from 17th to seventh over the past year.
