IHG has signed a management agreement with Qatari holding company Al Sraiya Hotels & Hospitality Group (a subsidiary of Al Sraiya Holding Group) to debut the Hotel Indigo brand in Qatar.

A new-build property, the 200-room Hotel Indigo Doha Lusail is due to open in 2023. The property will be part of the Lusail Marina, Qatar’s newest urban center, 30 kilometers from the airport with residential, commercial and retail areas.

When it opens, the hotel will have a spa, a gymnasium, a pool, a three-meal restaurant, a neighborhood café, a lobby lounge and an executive lounge. The property also will have meeting and banqueting facilities.

"As the guest profile visiting the country diversifies, the hospitality sector in Qatar continues to evolve," Pascal Gauvin, managing director, India, Middle East & Africa for IHG, said in a statement. "The introduction of the Hotel Indigo brand in Lusail will respond to the growing demand for upscale lifestyle hotels in the market and also demonstrates our commitment to Qatar National Vision 2030."

Established in 2004, Hotel Indigo now has a presence in more than 15 countries with more than 100 open hotels, and it has nearly 100 hotels in the pipeline. IHG currently operates 92 hotels across seven brands in the Middle East, with a further 38 in the development pipeline due to open within the next three to five years. In Qatar, IHG currently operates seven hotels across four brands as of March 31.
