InterContinental Hotels Group has signed a dual-brand management agreement with PT. Graha Agung Indahsentosa to debut two hotels in Bintan, Indonesia. The new-build Holiday Inn Resort Bintan Lagoi Beach and Hotel Indigo Bintan Lagoi Beach are set to open in 2019 in the Lagoi Bay area.
The 250-room Holiday Inn Resort Bintan Lagoi Beach and Hotel Indigo Bintan Lagoi Beach will both be on a 2.5-acre beachfront site owned by developer PT. Graha Agung Indahsentosa near the Bandar Bentan Telani ferry terminal. Bintan has been a popular destination for leisure travel, and with the upcoming Bintan International Airport scheduled for completion next year, international tourist arrivals to Lagoi are expected to increase twofold from the current 320,000 visitors annually.
“Indonesia is a key market for IHG; it is a diverse market, with a strong leisure and business pull, and the well-placed for easy travel between Australia, Southeast Asia and Singapore,” Rajit Sukumaran, CDO, IHG Asia Middle East and Africa, said in a statement. “In the past year we have seen a growing demand for the Holiday Inn and Hotel Indigo in Bali, Jakarta and Semarang.”
Indonesia has 22 IHG properties across four brands: InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express, with 23 more hotels in the development pipeline. South East Asia has 23 Holiday Inn properties and two Hotel Indigo properties open while an additional 21 Holiday Inn and nine Hotel Indigo hotels and resorts are due to open within the next three to five years.
Recently, IHG launched a Bahasa language IHG Mobile application for direct booking for customers, who speak the language. The IHG App is now available on mobile in 17 languages.
