Ikos Resorts to expand beyond Greece

Greece's Ikos Resorts is expanding beyond its home country. Following the opening of the Ikos Dassia in Corfu this year and the announcement of the Ikos Aria (slated to open on Kos Island in May), the company will open the Ikos Andalusia in Estepona along Spain's Costa del Sol in May 2020.

The €150 million development will be the group’s fifth resort and its first outside of Greece.

Construction of the Ikos Andalusia started on November 15 and is slated to wrap in March 2020.

Ikos Resorts acquired the current Costa del Sol Princess hotel in Estepona in first quarter and will invest €150 million in the reconstruction of the current building and its adaptation to an Ikos Resort.

Commenting on the investment, Estepona Mayor José María Urbano said, “We are convinced that this new high-end resort will strengthen Estepona’s touristic brand in the international markets while promoting employment and the revitalization of the economic sectors linked to tourism."

When it opens, the Ikos Andalusia will have 411 rooms and suites, seven restaurants, sports facilities, a theater, heated and outdoor swimming pools and a spa.
