KNA Design creates interiors for San Diego's Monsaraz

Southern California-based RAR Hospitality is scheduled to open San Diego's first Tapestry Collection by Hilton property  in summer 2020. The Monsaraz is a partnership with local development firm Alliance Development. RAR Hospitality will own and operate the property, which will have 92 rooms, a restaurant and bar.

Los Angeles-based KNA Design will lead the interior design for The Monsaraz’s mid-century modern look and feel.

The hotel will have a distinct Portuguese theme, paying tribute to the Portuguese settlers that landed on Point Loma in the 1500s. The hotel will have a strong storyline that ties into each space of the hotel, allowing for guests to immerse themselves in the local culture.

Located in the seaside community of Point Loma, California, the nearly 50,000-square-foot property will have views of the marina and Downtown San Diego. It will also have a contemporary lobby, fitness center, outdoor garden and deck. For events, it will have an 800-square-foot meeting room and 4,000 square feet of outdoor event space.

The ground-up hotel construction will be managed by Alliance Development. The general contractor will be Richard & Richard Construction based in San Marcos, California.
