LodgeWorks to open Archer hotel outside D.C.

LodgeWorks Partners has begun work on a new-build Archer hotel in Tysons, Va., 9 miles outside of Washington, D.C. The owner, operator and developer of the growing Archer Hotel collection expects to open the brand’s seventh hotel, the Archer Hotel Tysons, in summer 2021.

The seven-story, 178-room hotel will feature a fitness studio, a bar and a restaurant. It will offer more than 6,500 square feet of meetings and event space, including a rooftop with an outdoor terrace, a boardroom and several breakout rooms. Charlie Palmer, who previously worked with LodgeWorks on its Archer hotels in New York and Napa, Calif., will operate the hotel’s restaurant and be the exclusive provider of all food-and-beverage services at the hotel.

Located near the McLean Metro station, Archer Hotel Tysons will provide direct access to D.C. Tysons itself is home to 30 million square feet of office space, including five Fortune 500 headquarters. The hotel will be located in the new Scotts Run South development. Scotts Run is expected to encompass 6.5 million square feet of new residential and commercial development.

LodgeWorks Partners is a privately held hotel development and management company. It launched the Archer Hotel collection in May 2014 with a location in New York City. Since then it has opened properties in Austin, Texas; Napa; Burlington, Mass.; Florham Park, N.J.; and Redmond, Wash. LodgeWorks also owns, franchises and manages hotels from Hyatt Hotels Corp., Hilton and Marriott International’s brand families.
