Luxury boutique Plaza Le Reina opens in Los Angeles

A new luxury boutique hotel is opening in Los Angeles’ Westwood neighborhood with the Plaza La Reina

The 44-unit hotel was developed by Los Angeles commercial real estate investor and owner Kambiz Hekmat in a callback to the 1920’s Santa Barbara Mission revival architecture style, thought it was updated with modern conveniences. Architect Stefanos Polyzoides implemented custom details while designing the property’s exterior, while design firm Studio HBA developed the hotel’s Spanish influenced interiors, including the lobby with its high-coffered ceilings, antique furniture and parquet oak floors adorned with a hand-tufted area carpet.

Located adjacent to the Wilshire Corridor and within minutes of Beverly Hills, Century City, the Wilshire Corridor, Santa Monica, Bel Air and Brentwood, Plaza la Reina is also located near the University of California, Los Angeles and its medical center.

Each suite at the Plaza La Reina includes a living area and either a bedroom or a sleeping alcove as well as a kitchenette, Bosch washer and dryer and balcony for outdoor living. Custom design elements incorporated into the property were blended with modern designs, such as real plaster walls, rounded corners, mitered baseboard, iron vent grilles, custom made sconces, Brazilian cherry hardwood floors, carved wood mirrors, wrought iron light fixtures, beds dressed in designer Fili D’Oro linens, a stocked kitchenette appointed with “Striato Olimpico” marble tops, a Bosch dishwasher and Sur La Table house wears. Guest baths include mosaic marble tile floors and baseboards, a Kalista sink and Etro designer bath products which were custom designed for the property.

The hotel also provides access to approximately 3,000 square feet of event space, including a flower-draped courtyard as well as a secluded rooftop deck overlooking Westwood Village, which is designed for private and custom events. In addition, Hekmat’s wife’s jewelry inspired the colors in the fountain and the tree well tiles.

On property guest amenities include a guest concierge, complimentary Wi-Fi, smartphone guest suite access, a VIP parking garage and select pet-friendly suites.
