Mediterranean-inspired Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa sets July opening

The Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa is scheduled to open this July along the hillside bluffs of North County San Diego. KITAbayashi Design Studio, NOAA Associates Architects and TOPIA Landscape Architecture are all involved in the design. The interior design is done by Bluemotif Architecture.

With Mediterranean-inspired architecture, the resort will have 208 rooms, including 28 suites with coastal views. Guestrooms range in size from 436 square feet to 1,309 square feet, and will have contemporary furnishings, work desks with built-in data ports, 55’’ LG LCD televisions, complimentary Wi-Fi and the Westin Heavenly Bed. Additional room features will include refrigerators in every room and coffee makers with Starbucks coffee products.

For dining, the property will have Twenty/20 Grill, a 5,200-square-foot restaurant with outdoor dining terrace.

The Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa will also have a private rooftop terrace for group and private functions. Situated atop the highest point in Carlsbad, The Water Tower terrace will have panoramic views of the coastline.

The Ocean Pearl Spa & Fitness Center will have eight treatment rooms, private lockers, steam room, showers, relaxation lounge, fitness studio, heated pool and Jacuzzi.

The resort’s WestinWorkout fitness studio will have Peloton bikes and TRX training equipment.

For events, the Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa will have more than 70,000 square feet of flexible event and meeting space. The resort’s meeting facilities will include outdoor terraces and gardens with panoramic views of the coast and resort grounds, as well as access to 15 indoor meeting rooms and ballrooms.

Carlsbad is a coastal community located approximately 35 miles north of downtown San Diego and located between two international airports—the San Diego International Airport and John Wayne Airport in Orange County—in addition to McClellan–Palomar Airport.
