Spain's Meliá Hotels International is getting a new property under its ME by Meliá brand.
In Sitges, southwest of Barcelona, the former Hotel Terramar will become the ME Sitges Terramar, the first hotel under the brand on the Catalan coast, when it reopens later this year following a “thorough renovation.” The property is poised to complement the existing Meliá Sitges
For at least the next 20 years, the Meliá group will manage the hotel owned by HI Partners. “Our agreement with Meliá on such a singular asset reinforces the HI Partners commitment to developing a flagship-hotels portfolio,” Alejandro Hernandez-Puertolas, CEO of HI Partners, said in a statement.
“ME Sitges Terramar will bring a new style and positioning to a cosmopolitan and successful destination that has always been at the forefront of innovation,” Gabriel Escarrer, VP and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, added.
ME by Meliá already has properties in some of Spain’s top beach destinations, including Mallorca and Ibiza.
