Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts is adding a third property to its portfolio in the Philippines. The Mövenpick Hotel & Residences Quezon City is slated to open in Q4 2021.
The new Mövenpick in Metro Manila will have 350 guestrooms and suites as well as 250 residences. The property in Manila's commercial center will be near Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
This property will be the third in Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts' Filipino portfolio following Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu and the recently opened Mövenpick Resort & Spa Boracay. Near Caticlan Airport, the new beachfront Mövenpick in Boracay, which launched earlier this month, has 312 guestrooms and suites. Prior to this recent opening, the hotel group launched its first hotel in the country, The Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu, in 2005. Mövenpick closed the property temporarily in July 2012 for an extensive renovation, and reopened it in December 2012 with a new entertainment and event facility along with updated guestrooms, external areas and other facilities.
Elsewhere in Asia, Mövenpick brought its brand to Thailand's capital with the launch of Mövenpick Suriwongse Hotel Chiang Mai in early November 2017. This addition to the company's six-property portfolio in Thailand has 266 guestrooms. In the Night Bazaar district, the hotel is close to Chiang Mai International Airport, Chiang Mai National Convention & Exhibition Center and tourist attractions.
In Thailand, Mövenpick operates two properties in Bangkok, two in Phuket and one in Pattaya with another three in development. The 111-guestroom Mövenpick Resort Khao Yai and the 96-guestroom Mövenpick Asara Resort & Spa Hua Hin are scheduled to open in 2018. Meanwhile, Mövenpick's third property in Phuket, the 220-guestroom Mövenpick Resort Mai Khao Beach, is set to open the following year.
