Red Carnation to launch in Scotland next year

The Red Carnation Hotel Collection plans to open its first hotel in Scotland, turning the current Royal Overseas League Hotel at 100 Princes St., Edinburgh, into a luxury property. The hotel will be named after its street address.

"It has been a dream of ours to open a hotel in Edinburgh for some time, and with the best address in the city, it was well worth the wait," said Jonathan Raggett, managing director of Red Carnation Hotels.

The hotel is due to open next year and will be the group's 19th property worldwide.

The hotel, which will have "uninterrupted views" of Edinburgh Castle, will replicate the boutique atmosphere of sister property Hotel 41, which has been TripAdvisor’s top-rated London hotel for more than 10 years as well as the TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice Best Hotel in the U.K. for the last three years. Red Carnation also is behind the restoration of Ashford Castle in Ireland.
