Montreal-based Rimap Hospitality Services signed a contract with Marriott International to debut the company’s AC Hotels by Marriott brand in Ottawa. The operator previously worked with Marriott to open the brand’s first, and currently its only, Canadian hotel, the AC Hotel by Marriott Montreal Downtown.
“Following the outstanding success of AC Hotel Montreal Downtown, we are thrilled to be working with Marriott International again to bring yet another AC Hotel to Canada, this time in Ottawa,” Marc Varadi, president of Rimap Hospitality Services, said in a statement.
The 208-room AC Hotel by Marriott Ottawa is expected to open in the summer of 2022. It will be located between Byward Market and the Rideau Center, close to Parliament hill and the University of Ottawa. The hotel will feature a bar and a 24-hour wellness center.
“Rimap Hospitality and Marriott International were an incredible team in opening the first AC Hotel in Canada,” Paul Loehr, Marriott International’s regional VP of development, Canada, said in a statement. “Based on the success of AC Hotel Montreal Downtown, we feel Canada’s capital city is ready for the brand’s fresh perspective on lodging, which strikes the perfect balance of details our guests want and the services they need.”
AC Hotels by Marriott has more than 150 locations open in more than 20 countries and territories. Marriott International’s total portfolio encompasses more than 7,200 hotels in 134 countries and territories.
