The Sheraton Bay Point Resort completes multimillion-dollar update

Marriott International opened the Sheraton Bay Point Resort, which is located along Florida’s Emerald Coast in Panama City Beach. Managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts, Sheraton Bay Point Resort recently finished a $30-million renovation.

“Panama City Beach is fast becoming the ideal destination for meetings, conferences, tradeshows and conventions in Florida. With its convenient location, ample meeting and event space and beautiful surroundings, it made for an ideal choice for the new Sheraton Bay Point Resort,” said Bob Jacobs, VP of brand management, Sheraton North America.

Located within a 1,100-acre wildlife preserve on St. Andrews Bay in Panama City Beach, the property is designed to capture design concepts of light, water and openness. The property has 200 guestrooms and suites in the main building and 120 golf villas offering views of the waters of St. Andrews Bay and the fairway greens. The resort also has three outdoor pools, a variety of watersports, onsite marina with fishing and water sport rentals, five HydroGrid lighted clay tennis courts, a fitness center and a 300-yard boardwalk to the resort’s private bay beach.

The hotel’s signature restaurant, Tides, offers American fare with a southern twist. The view is matched only by the impeccable fresh seafood and curated experiences. For more casual fare, Pelican’s, an open-air beach bar located at the end of the pier, invites guests and locals in for fish tacos and burgers. Hammocks Beach Bar, located on the Bay Beach, offers snacks with local craft beers and simple cocktails in a unique and secluded environment with 360-degree views of St. Andrews Bay.

The resort also has 60,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space including a 12,000-square-foot ballroom; 8,000-square-foot junior ballroom; eight additional breakout rooms; 22 individual meeting rooms; an outdoor pavilion; private bay beach and outdoor lawns, among other venues.

“After our recently completed renovations and improvements throughout the property, we believe that adding Crescent’s renowned level of service will best position the Sheraton Bay Pont Resort for future growth,” said Pat Shimon, GM of the resort. “We expect the Sheraton Bay Point Resort to significantly raise the bar for resorts in this area and emerge as a leading choice among global travelers.”
