StayApt Suites breaks ground on 8 new projects

Apartment-style hotel brand StayApt Suites has broken ground on eight new locations in Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina as part of its plan to build an extensive portfolio of corporate-financed and franchised locations across the United States.

StayApt Suites, which launched in 2020, has already opened five hotels across the southern U.S. region. The brand will open another five hotels this fall, has an additional eight locations under construction, and more than 15 sites in development. The brand expects to have more than 25 StayApt Suites hotels open by the end of 2022.

“The reaction we’ve received from guests and prospective investors has been overwhelmingly positive,” said StayApt Suites President and CEO Gary A. DeLapp . “Our flexible prototypes and high cash-on-cash yields have been very appealing to potential franchisees. In addition, guests have been blown away by the amount of space and the overall functionality in each suite. It’s like nothing else experienced in the category and is a game-changer for long-term lodging.”

The N.C.-based hotel chain's suites feature a full-size kitchen, a dedicated living room and a separate bedroom. The prototype includes two- and three-story construction models ranging from 59 to 88 units for sites ranging from 1.8 to 2.1 acres.

StayApt Suites is a 100 percent ground-up construction brand, positioned in the midscale category of the long-term lodging segment.
