Staybridge Suites plans two new hotels in Mexico

InterContinental Hotels Group and Mexican-based Alkoer are forming a joint venture to develop two Staybridge Suites hotels in the cities of Irapuato and Silao, both in the Mexican state of Guanajuato. Both properties are expected to open in late 2017, and will have 120 rooms each, covering 84 studios, 24 one-bedroom suites and 12 two-bedroom suites.

The Staybridge Suites Irapuato hotel will be located eight miles north of downtown Irapuato, close to the Marabis Plaza shopping area. The Staybridge Suites Silao hotel will be situated in the Guanajuato Inland Port, the main business park in the Bajio region, and next to the Del Bajio International Airport.

The hotels are part of a joint venture between Alkoer and IHG and will be managed by an affiliate of IHG. In Mexico, Staybridge Suites hotels are located in Chihuahua, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puebla, Queretaro, and San Luis Potosí (pictured above). The San Luis Potosí property opened earlier this month and marked the launch of the brand in the city. Owned and managed by Operadora Vea Chapultepec, the Staybridge Suites San Luis Potosí hotel is franchised by an affiliate of IHG.
