UK builder wins $181M deal for UAE Hard Rock Hotel

UK construction compay Carillion has announced that its joint venture business in the UAE has won a contract to build a Hard Rock Hotel in Abu Dhabi. Al Futtaim Carillion has been awarded a $181 million contract by Aabar Properties to build the hotel.

The property, first announced in 2012, will have 378 rooms and will be located on the UAE capital's Corniche.

The hotel will be the first entry into the Middle East for Hard Rock.

Construction is scheduled to begin this month, with completion in the first quarter of 2017.
