Yotel heads to Atlanta with plans for 351-key hotel

Yotel introduced plans for a 351-room property in downtown Atlanta this week. The international hotel company plans to begin construction in summer 2020 with an anticipated opening date of fall 2022.

A hybrid hotel, the Atlanta Yotel will consist of 234 rooms designed for short stays (Yotel) and 117 for longer stays (YotelPad). It will feature a grab-and-go café, a restaurant, an outdoor pool and a rooftop bar.

The property will be located in the heart of a four-block redevelopment from real estate developer WRS. Known as the Underground, it will consist of 400,000 square feet of retail, restaurant, entertainment, event, office, residential and student housing space.

“We’re excited to have found the right hotel partner that is unique to Atlanta,” T. Scott Smith, president/CEO of WRS, said in a statement. “It’s perfect for Underground’s location in the heart of downtown and close proximity to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.”

Yotel currently operates seven airport hotels and five city-center hotels in New York, Boston, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Singapore. In the United States alone it has another seven under development, including four YotelPad properties.
