Curtiss Hotel Buffalo to open new restaurant patio

The latest update to the $20-million Curtiss Hotel project in Buffalo, N.Y., is a patio for its Chez Ami restaurant.

Developer Mark Croce got approval to add the patio from the Buffalo Planning Board Monday. It will be set back 15 feet and face West Huron Street. It will provide seating for about 50 guests of the fine-dining restaurant.

The Chez Ami will be located on the first floor of the Curtiss Hotel, a $20 million boutique luxury hotel.

The hotel, at 204 through 216 Franklin St., is under construction. It’s expected to open by the end of summer or early fall.

The 57,000-square-foot former office building will have 68 luxury hotel rooms, with a first-floor fine-dining restaurant and revolving bar, plus a rooftop bar and lounge. It will be part of Choice International’s Ascend Collection of independent hotels, which includes the Giacomo in Niagara Falls and Salvatore’s Grand in Cheektowaga.
