Potawatomi Hotel to debut new restaurant this month

The Potawatomi Hotel & Casino in Milwaukee will open a new restaurant concept on July 18.

The new concept, Canal Street Café, will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Breakfast options will range from eggs Benedict to a build-your-own omelet and cinnamon-raisin French toast. Prices range from $6.95 to $15.95.

Lunch and dinner options will include burgers, sandwiches and specialty entrées such as spaghetti and meatballs, shrimp scampi pasta and meatloaf. Prices for lunch and dinner options range from $3.95 to $18.95.

The chef for Canal Street Café will be Oscar Vega Medina, who has worked at the Potawatomi Hotel & Casino since March 2015. He was formerly the sous chef.

Medina did his culinary training in Irapuato, Mexico, and has previously worked at Simple Café, Motor Bacchus and Ristorante Bartolotta's.

The new cafe will have a Milwaukee theme that will highlight local food, atmosphere and sights.

Canal Street Café will replace the former Locavore.
