Pulitzer Amsterdam cocktails inspired by hotel's perfume

This winter, Pulitzer Amsterdam is set to launch three new cocktails inspired by Le Labo Santal 33 perfume.

Pulitzer’s Bar’s head bartender, Andrei Talapanescu, has designed three cocktails to reflect three of the most significant and long-lasting notes in Santal 33: cardamom, violet and leather. Santal 33 is a unisex perfume that is used throughout the hotel.

For this new experimentation, guests will be invited to touch and smell the perfume’s raw ingredients, so as to awaken the olfactory system, before choosing a drink. The new cocktail menu will run at Pulitzer’s Bar until the end of January, and are priced at $21 per cocktail.

The new cocktails on offer are as follows:

Cardamom

Ophir spiced gin, rosemary syrup, grapefruit juice, cardamom bitters

Violet

Floral gin, mandarin & calamansi shrub, violet liquor, egg white, soda

Leather

Bourbon, Amontillado Sherry, Disaronno Amaretto, aromatic leaf bitters and edible leather (cherries, green olives, lavender, sugar)

Since the grand reopening of Pulitzer Amsterdam in 2016, Le Labo has been the hotel’s amenities brand of choice, with guests treated to Santal 33 shampoos and lotions across all of Pulitzer’s bathrooms.

“You can smell Santal 33 everywhere you go in the hotel, it’s truly a scent that envelopes Pulitzer, and guests find it comforting and familiar,” Talapanescu said. “It felt only right to develop this partnership further and explore other senses; we’re excited to have created a collection of entirely unique cocktails.”
