Scroll Bar debuts at the Pullman San Francisco Bay

Set inside the Pullman San Francisco Bay in Redwood City, Calif., the new Scroll Bar offers a modern market featuring both indoor and outdoor dining spaces; globally influenced, locally sourced cuisine; and innovative cocktails. Scroll Bar Waterside Kitchen soft opened just in time to celebrate the new year with the grand opening taking place on Feb. 1, 2018. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Focused on locally sourced seafood and globally inspired ingredients, the menu at Scroll Bar has a little something for everyone. Craveable dishes such as Scroll Bar Crab Dip with wasabi roe, charred tomatoes and grilled toast, and watercress mussels with watercress, ginger, tomatoes and grilled naan, are meant to share, while dishes like the Scroll Burger with grass fed angus beef, crispy onion rings, white cheddar, applewood smoked bacon; Waterside Kitchen cioppino with shrimp, scallops, clams, mussels, egg noodles, fennel-tomato broth, olive oil focaccia toast and roasted Petaluma chicken with swiss chard, roasted garlic puree, sun-dried tomato vinaigrette, cannellini beans, capicola are enticing mains. An ode to executive chef Mariano Lalica’s Hawaiian heritage, the larger format Scroll Kitchen Luau Pig serves eight and features slow cooked heritage pork shoulder, traditional sides like ahi poke, sweet potato, lomi salmon, coconut rice and Sonoma greens.

Shaken and Stirred

Mixologist Freddie Sarkis has curated a custom cocktail menu for Scroll Bar Waterside Kitchen with a focus on creative libations such as Scroll Punch with Sutherland Distilling Diablo’s Shadow Vodka, lime juice, grapefruit juice, served over crushed ice, topped with ginger beer and Digital Detox with Laughing Monk’s 3rd Street Pale Ale Whiskey, house-made tea syrup, lemon juice, both available on draft. A progressive beer and wine selection featuring local brews and vintages rounds out the drinks menu.

Dining by Design

Designed by Novato architecture and interior design firm EDG, Scroll Bar’s décor is influenced by its waterfront location. With indoor and outdoor dining spaces, the restaurant features custom wooden screens to evoke movement and create privacy, large windows with waterside views, warm lighting, a central contemporary bar area and charging stations at every seating group. The 5,365-square-foot restaurant features an outdoor terrace and two adjacent private rooms offering accommodations for groups and weddings up to 200 people.

Social at Scroll Bar

Scroll Bar’s event programming makes the bar and restaurant an alluring destination for locals and travelers alike. Sunset happy hour takes place Monday-Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. with 50 percent off specialty cocktails, wines and brews. Weekend brunch will be featured on Saturday and Sunday. Nightly events will occur throughout the week including unique cocktail demonstrations and live music on weekends featuring local artists.
