Atlanta hotel treats diners to global cuisine with a Mediterranean flair

The Whitley, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Atlanta Buckhead debuted its newest dining and social hub, Trade Root. Led by executive chef Mark Suennemann, Trade Root treats diners to delectable global cuisine with a Mediterranean flair. Using fresh, locally sourced ingredients to deliver a luxurious and worldly flavor profile, Trade Root’s menu pays homage to Buckhead founder and The Whitley namesake, John Whitley, the neighborhood’s history as a multicultural hub and the hotel’s Georgia roots.

Trade Root offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch options, as well as a contemporary cocktail. Menu items include:  

  • Crab cake Benedict
  • Fried chicken & waffles
  • Trade Root farm egg frittata
  • Prosciutto flatbread
  • Shakshuka
  • Meat and cheese bazar 
  • Lemon poached Georgia trout
  • Signature cold-press juices 
  • Shareable cocktails, including Trade Root high tea

The restaurant hosts a Saturday afternoon upside-down tea and a weekly jazz brunch every Sunday featuring a “build your own sparkle bar” with guests’ choice of custom mimosas, Bellinis and rosé. Signature to The Whitley Trade Root, the restaurant also invites patrons to enjoy “Reverse Happy Hour” on the weekends, offering specially priced small plates curated by Suennemann.
