RLHC (Red Lion Hotels Corporation) signed a franchise license agreement to open a new Red Lion Hotel in Jacksonville, Fla., next month. The property will be located near major attractions and will be the second RLHC property to open in Florida within the last seven months.

The Red Lion Hotel Jacksonville, located at 4700 Salisbury Road, is seven miles from the University of Northern Florida. Nearby attractions include EverBank Field, Jacksonville Beach, Ponte Verde Beach and historic St. Augustine. The hotel has 167 guestrooms, a restaurant and bar, outdoor pool, meeting area, business center and fitness center, and offers complimentary Wi-Fi.

“We are excited to join the RLHC family as a Red Lion Hotel,” said Alex Fawaz, GM of the property. “The brand’s reputation and property enhancements align seamlessly with our ongoing pursuit to provide our Jacksonville guests enhanced comfort and convenience, including the signature RLHC amenities.”

“Our strategy for expansion along the East Coast continues to pay off,” said Brian Quinn, RLHC SVP and chief franchise officer. “We are proud to have a presence in this exciting destination and look forward to serving sun-seeking travelers.”

Guests will be able to take advantage of RLHC's Hello Rewards guest recognition program at the property, which includes perks such as a free night every seven stays and Hello Rewards room rates. The Jacksonville property will join the recently opened Red Lion Hotel Orlando - Kissimmee Maingate and the Red Lion Hotel Orlando – Lake Buena Vista South, which is slated for a November 2016 opening.
