Glasgow to get Europe's first new-build Radisson Red in 2017

Carlson Rezidor has signed Europe’s first new-build Radisson Red, with the Radisson Red Hotel Glasgow set to open in 2017. The lifestyle select property, which will be located adjacent to Scotland’s largest exhibition centre, will have 176 rooms. The group already operates a Radisson Blu and a Park Inn by Radisson in the city.

“The Radisson Red Hotel Glasgow will be a flagship and strengthen the brand’s strategic roll-out in Europe, the Middle East and Africa," Elie Younes, EVP & CDO for Rezidor, said in a statement, noting that Radisson Red is aiming for more than 60 hotels worldwide by the year 2020.”

The site of the Radisson Red Hotel Glasgow is in the city’s West End is 300 meters away from the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) that includes the Clyde Auditorium for 3,000 guests and the Hydro concert arena with 12,500 seats. (The Glasgow Science Centre and the Glasgow Media Centre are also in the International Financial Services District.) The city center and international airport are 2 kilometers and 10 kilometers away, respectively. 

The Radisson Red Hotel Glasgow will be operated by The Rezidor Hotel Group.
