Hilton Worldwide has announced plans to open a hotel near Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi next year. Hilton reportedly has signed a deal with Reliance Hotels to open the 171-room Hilton Garden Inn, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in early 2016. The hotel is among 11 Hilton properties under development in Africa, including Hilton Garden Inn Abuja Airport.
"Agreeing to our first Hilton Garden Inn for Kenya, and adding a second airport location to our African portfolio, demonstrates how we are growing and evolving our presence across the continent with leading brands in convenient locations," said SVP of development, Europe and Africa, for Hilton Worldwide, Patrick Fitzgibbon. "Hilton has long pioneered the concept of airport hotels and in recent years has added new properties in aviation hubs including London Heathrow, Istanbul Ataturk and Amsterdam Schipol airports."
Hilton Garden Inn JKIA will feature 300 square meters of events space, a business centre, fitness centre and an outdoor swimming pool among several other facilities.
