Bad news for travelers: it's going to cost them a bit more to book a hotel room. That's according to a recent survey from Hotels.com, which says that the average price of a room in North America rose 3 percent.
The Hotel Price Index showed that higher occupancy levels in the U.S. led to the increase.
The index also showed that Las Vegas was the most visited destination in 2013 followed by New York City and Orlando.
The most popular international cities for Americans to visit were London and Paris followed by Toronto.
