AMResorts taps Jan LaPointe as VP of strategic sales planning

AMResorts promoted Jan LaPointe to VP of strategic sales planning – North America. This newly created position will support AMResort’s growth efforts as the company moves towards its goal to reach 100 resorts by 2020 in nearly 30 destinations. LaPointe will report to Claudio Zboznovits, VP of global sales and business development.

LaPointe recently celebrated her 15th anniversary with AMResorts, and has more than 30 years of experience in the tourism industry. In this role, she will develop and execute strategic retail sales plans to leverage the travel professional channel, while leading consortia relationship growth across North America. She will support management of the daily efforts of the U.S. and Canada sales teams, including working closely with the retail, wholesale and tour operator communities to ensure proper positioning, development and growth of AMResorts’ six award-winning brands. In addition, LaPointe will continue to lead the company’s sales and marketing efforts in the Canadian market.

LaPointe will also continue to build the strategic positioning of the robust travel agent loyalty program AMRewards, which she helped launch in 2015 and today has more than 19,000 registered agents. She will focus on driving the promotional strategy to recruit and train travel agent partners in North America, and under her leadership, the program is expected to continue advancement along with the expanding AMResorts portfolio.
