“With a legacy stretching back more than a century, the Hotel Management brand has grown alongside the vibrant hospitality industry it serves. Through decades of change on both sides, it has remained a touchstone for the movers and shakers, the aspirational staffers and the suppliers who support this amazing amalgam of people and products. It’s going to be my privilege to lead and work with the team to ensure we meet the needs of our readers and supporters across a variety of brand platforms,” says O’Connor.

An award-winning journalist, O'Connor brings more than 20 years’ industry experience to Hotel Management. Most recently, O’Connor served as executive news editor at Hotel Business magazine, as well as managing editor of the magazine's National Executive Roundtable Series, which, with support of such partners as The Wall Street Journal, brought together executives from the hospitality arena and allied businesses to discuss current issues of importance. Prior to joining Hotel Business, O'Connor was senior editor at Business Travel News and previous to that was editor-in-chief of Hotel & Resort Industry magazine.

Hotel Management magazine has been serving the hospitality industry for 142 years, providing industry coverage across investment, development, design, operations, F&B, technology and more, reaching an audience of over 227,000 hospitality figures globally in print and online.

“Today, you can’t think hotels without thinking finance, real estate, technology, design, F&B, labor, sustainability and adjunct disciplines—along with consumers and social media—and how they influence and impact the core industry. And the HM brand gets this, understanding that from the line-level associate to the C-suite, everyone wants—and needs—to stay informed,” says O’Connor.

O’Connor also has brought her expertise to numerous venues, serving as a panelist and moderator across a range of national conferences, including the New York University International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference, Hunter Hotel Investment Conference, The Lodging Conference and the National Association of Black Hotel Owners, Operators and Developers (NABHOOD) Summit.

“We are pleased to have such a well-respected journalist join the HM team,” says Amy Vaxman, group publisher, Hotel Management. “At the core of our business lies our editorial voice, which provides the hospitality industry not only with the news they need but the hard-hitting analysis to help them adapt, innovate, and drive business forward. Stefani C. O’Connor is a trailblazer in this industry and I look forward to having her voice represent Hotel Management.”

O’Connor will assume the role effective July 12, 2018 as editor-in-chief. David Eisen, who represented the brand for over a decade, will be transitioning out of Questex to a new role within the hospitality sector, joining HotStats, a profit and loss benchmarking service to hoteliers.

“There is no one more qualified to lead Hotel Management into the future than Stefani,” says Eisen. “She is well known in the hospitality community, ubiquitous at industry gatherings and her knowledge of the hotel space is peerless. I am fortunate to leave the brand in her hands."
