My Place Hotels of America announced that the company's department of franchise sales and development has grown with the addition Eric Myers.
Myers began his career in sales decades ago, beginning with appliances, then automobiles, before shifting to hospitality by joining The Rivett Group as VP of strategic partnerships. Now, Myers is stepping into his new role as VP of franchise sales and development for My Place Hotels of America.
“It was almost funny when we both had the epiphany,” Terry Kline, EVP of franchise development at My Place, said in a statement. “After interviewing many candidates to join me in facilitating My Place’s accelerated growth, I found myself saying, ‘I just need someone with the skill set of an Eric Myers on the team.'”
Little did Kline know, Myers was on the same page. “I remember thinking, ‘wait a minute, this is what I do best!’ And I thought it better to express that before the opportunity passed,” Myers said in a statement. “Sometimes life-altering opportunities like this are right in front of you, calling and waiting on your will to seize them.”
Although Myers’ focus will shift to franchise sales, he will maintain his position as managing partner of a business plan including a portfolio of My Place locations and ongoing development. Kline will assist in Myers' transition.
“Eric’s existing relationships with franchisees and My Place employees makes this a natural progression,” Kline said. “The experience that he brings from decades of relationship building in addition to his development of the My Place product over the last few years not only makes him a qualified candidate, but rather, the best candidate.”
All My Place Hotels offer modern amenities, and each extended stay guestroom has a My Kitchen, complete with a two-burner cooktop, a microwave and a full refrigerator. The properties are pet friendly, and include on-site laundry facilities, complimentary high-speed internet and a 24-hour My Store, located in the hotel lobby.
